This Rum & Tres Coffee Recipe will be your new favorite
Since I can remember there’s always been one dessert that I’ve begged my aunt Ani to make: tres laries recipe. She is a wonderful person Baker and cake decorator, but her tres leeches are the best. Aside from some additions I’ve made to the soaking liquid, this recipe is all hers, and I’m excited to share it with you.
I was born in Venezuela and although many people think Tres Lords are from Mexico or Nicaragua, source of the tres leeches is a Latin American mystery. So for our sake and my own pride, the tres leeches are Venezuelan, okay? Okay!
Here’s my advice to tres: it’s all about soaking liquids and more! The cake must be drenched in the liquid, so if you find yourself wondering if that’s enough, make a little more and pour the cake on top.
This cake is not for children. My immersion liquid has rum (ahem Venezuelan rum) and coffee! Feel free to substitute amounts of these for more milk, but if you can follow the recipe, you’ll be glad you did. Guys, I swear I’m a very humble cook.
