This ‘Hidden’ Lightroom slider will make your photos stand out

There are many different ways to edit photos in Lightroom, but most people probably won’t use this slider for the purpose presented here, as it was designed for something else. However, it can give your photos a little extra punch that makes them grab the viewer’s attention without diving into flamboyant territory. This great video tutorial will show you where to find it and how to use it to improve your images.

Coming to you from Park CameraThis awesome video tutorial will show you how to use the hidden midtones slider in Lightroom to add a bit of natural accent to your photos. This slider is not hidden in the sense that Adobe puts it in a secret place. Instead, it’s not found in the basic tone control panel with other adjustments like shadows, highlights, etc because Adobe designed it for color grading. However, if you omit the color adjustment, it allows you to adjust the brightness of the mid-tones for a subtle yet effective correction without the risk of excessive HDR look caused by push the shadow and highlight sliders around too much. You could also use a tone curve for this effect, but that might not be as simple or effective, although there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. Check out the video above for the full recap.
