The System Metro mod of “keanuWheeze” adds Rapid Transit routes in the Night City Area connecting 19 stations, traveling across the city. You can choose a destination and start a journey, seeing the city in first or third person from your only carriage. Sure it’s slower than a car and much slower than going fast, but it’s nice. The mod also adds platforms to wait for your train and you can adjust the speed and waiting time in the options if you want. And yes, you can play music from the radio.
It’s a pity my PC sucks at running the game without pop-ups and sometimes stutters even at medium-low settings (sorry for that, dear viewers) but this is still very good. So beautiful. The mod tends to occasionally chime when the camera collides with things (I think?), but I wouldn’t play Cyberpunk if I didn’t have the stamina. And while I’d love to have more life in stations and on trains, this is a mod, and it’s impressive.
To use the Metro System mod you will need CET and factory settings UI mod too. But the installation all just involves unpacking the files into the correct directory.
I am very happy for this. I spent a fair while just taking the train today, appreciating the glimpses through the gaps and along the roads, admiring the greenery on the towers and listening to the traditional movies. across the city. I would be happy if CD Projekt Red decided to take the time and resources to officially add a functional metro system to the game as they continue to improve the game. Its many metro stations certainly feel like they were once intended to be more than just fast-moving points.
