This 200W charging beast can power six devices at once (and it’s smaller than you think)
One of the great things about laptops that use USB-C for charging is that we can throw bulky boxed chargers in a drawer to forget about technology and save a lot of screen space by using use one multi-port charger.
And USB-C charging is incredibly easy to use. You can charge — albeit a lot slower — a laptop using a charger that consumes much less power than it should be.

But nothing compares to high-speed charging — as long as you have enough power.

Simultaneously.

High-speed charging for all types of devices.
Upon unboxing the 200W charger, the first thing I noticed was that it really is a monster.

Measuring 105 x 105 x 35 mm/4.1 x 4.1 x 1.4 inches and weighing 622 g/22 oz, this is a large and bulky charger. Made of space gray aluminum and black polycarbonate, this gives it an elegant yet durable finish.
I expected nothing more from Satechi.
On the front panel along with the six ports is a discreet LED indicator. As someone who doesn’t like big, blinding LEDs burning a hole in my retina, I welcome a small, inconspicuous LED.
At the bottom of the device are rubber feet to keep it from slipping on a table, and there’s also a stand to hold the charger in an upright configuration.
On the front are six USB-C ports, supporting a combined total of 200 watts of power output. With a single device connected to the first or second port, the device can output up to 140W of power, which is enough to charge one MacBook Pro 16 inch at maximum speed.

When more devices are connected, six ports can output 65W/45W/20W/20W/20W/20W.
On the inside, the charger uses GaN technologyNot only does this allow chargers to be smaller, cooler, and more powerful than chargers that use older silicon technology.
I left this charger running between 150 and 200W for over a week and the device never got hot to the touch.

The charger supports a wide range of charging protocols, including PD 3.1/3.0, QC 4.0+ and PPS.
There are a few things that I look for in desktop chargers.
First, does it output what the spec says it outputs? The Satechi 200W device scores a perfect 10 out of 10. It can output 140W with no problem from a single port and 200W in combination with the six included devices.
Then there’s the heat output. Can it output its maximum rated power without turning into a glowing ball? Overheating is a big problem when it comes to cheap chargers — a good reason to avoid them.

This charger has no problem with overheating. In fact, its structure is such that it does an excellent job of dissipating whatever heat is generated.
10 out of 10 other.
$150 isn’t cheap, but you’ll get a great charger for your money, and one that will give you years of use. If you want to replace a ton of chargers and clean up your desk, I highly recommend this one Satechi 200W USB-C GaN Charger.
If your charging needs are a bit more modest, Satechi also provides 165W four-port charger for $120and a 108W three-port charger for $80both have the same style and both use GaN technology.
