Television reporters often find themselves in dangerous situations; They cover crime, extreme weather, and other risky stories. A reporter learned about some of the dangers of being hit by a pickup truck on live TV – and she got up and got right back to work.
Posted on NBC News website, the video shows reporter Tori Yorgey, 25, operating a main water body in Dunbar, West Virginia. Seems to be filming on her own, with no camera crew, she listens to studio anchors like what looks like a first generation Chevrolet Avalanche Turn left and hit her, knocking her and her camera gear down. There is nothing to suggest that the driver intentionally hit Yorgey.
Yorgey remained surprisingly calm and took things lightly. “I just got hit by a car but it’s okay,” she said. “It’s live TV for you!”
Driver avalanche stopped to make sure Yorgey wasn’t hurt and apologized. Many reporters could interpret it as cutting off the live feed and running to the hospital, but Yorgey got up and finished his segment. She went to the hospital later that night, according to NBC News, and was not injured. She told the outlet that she felt only slight pain in her back and in her right leg.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Yorgey has tried his hand at a car.
“I actually got hit by a car in college too, just like that,” she said in the segment.
