A black Labrador retriever named Lily isn’t just a mobile service dog – she’s a hero.
The loyal dog spends his days not only helping her mother, Bridget Evans, who is in a wheelchair, but also helping her deaf sister, Kinley. Lily was the ear for her older sister who lost her hearing when she was just a little girl.
Lily sweetly told her sister when it was time to go out and even urged her when it was time to go inside.

Lily’s mother created a TikTok and Instagram page to share videos and photos of her amazing dog.
She shared that she adopted Lily as a puppy and trained her to be her moving service dog. The good girl helps her mother in many ways. In addition to opening doors, turning lights on and off, grabbing things, and pulling a wheelchair, she makes a great companion.
“I am so grateful to have her by my side,” she said.
Lily and Kinley, the family dog, are best friends and do everything together. “You two love each other like this, how much you love each other. They have a sweet relationship. Lily admires and models Kinley in many manners. Meanwhile, Kinley turns to Lily for guidance on how to compensate for her hearing loss,” posted Evans.
But it’s not all work and no play. The girls love to wrestle and play but then cuddle up to take a nap.
We can learn a lot from dogs, which Evans experienced for the first time. Evans has trained service dogs to move since he was a teenager and founded, Service dog Illini, in universities. She was born with spina bifida and had her first dog at the age of 11. Since then, she has worked with dozens of dogs but has learned as much as she taught.
The nonprofit is run by volunteers, and through fundraising and donations, trained service dogs will be provided free of charge to people with disabilities.
As you can clearly see, Lily and her mother are both heroes.
