Square Enix announced that the Star Ocean: The Second Story R original soundtrack will be released in Japan on November 8, 2023 for 4,180 yen ($28.55) including tax. It is available to pre-order on the Square Enix e-store. So far, a western release has not been confirmed.
The soundtrack will be a set of four CDs that include all of the songs from the game. The music is composed and arranged by Motoi Sakuraba, who also wrote and arranged the music for the original game. It also includes band versions of the battle music and orchestral versions of field songs. It will feature new music produced specially for the remake.
