While on his boat, Dornellas witnessed a commotion underwater and noticed an otter frantically swimming towards his boat to escape a killer whale. The whale’s dorsal fin is visible as it approaches the otter. Donellas couldn’t believe his eyes when the otter suddenly emerged from the water and sought shelter on his boat.

Donellas expressed skepticism when documenting the incident. He invites otters onto the boat while the killer whale continues to swim around. The otter stayed on the boat for a few minutes, then returned to the water briefly before deciding to stay on the boat.
