This is an inch or two longer than the sedan. Because we’ve given the roof such a sloping line, it gives the hatchback a five-door feel, but it’s really a sedan in shape, and also has the versatility of a hatchback. ”
That point about the Integra being an inch or two longer than the sedan is also an important differentiator. “The name came up during development when we realized we could make a car worthy of the name,” says Rivers. “So this is not a marketing exercise, we didn’t just focus on it last minute. If we have components, if we have some design cues. If we have something as sporty and fun and versatile as the cars before it, it’s the car.”
If you combine the elements we know now, Rivers makes it hard to call this anything other than an Integra: 1.5-liter turbo, six-speed manual, limited-slip differential, body hatchback car, good handling and affordable price. In fact, those preliminary specs and features suggest that we’re going for something underpinning the Integration, which leagues better and more fun than any of the previous Base Integration models. this.
