Beckham started the game with a short catch on his first goal from Matthew Stafford. Just a few seconds later, however, Stafford had plenty of time in his pocket and tried to target the Beckham midfielder to make a deep pass.

Stafford made an effective move, doubling the defense with that pass, but Beckham also appeared to break the line at the top. Had he run past, he might have had a chance to make a play. He made a powerful tackle, but that intercept set the tone for the Rams in a sloppy performance.
It also proves that Beckham still needs plenty of time to learn how to foul the Rams. It’s a bit unfair to judge him so much on this one performance – he was essentially pushed into the extra action because Robert Woods’ tattered ACL It’s in practice on Friday after all – but the point is that he’s not going to be the instant, big-time game changer some had hoped.
All told, Beckham finished the game with two catches in 18 meters on three goals. He plays for just 15 seconds – or 27% of the time attacking play – and is targeted after the early stages of the second quarter. Seventh rookie Ben Skowronek saw head-to-head action against Beckham as the Rams ran more than rushed attacks while on track. He played 42 snaps but caught only one of five targets within eight yards.

Beckham has been honest about his debut and his team’s performance after the big loss.
“They played better than us in all phases of the game,” Beckham told reporters after the game. “They just played us. . . . It was not our night. There’s no way around it, it wasn’t our night. All three stages of the game. ”
It’s worth noting for the Rams, who are going through consecutive losses in the early hours, that they have a bye coming up in Week 11. That should give them some time to regroup. .
Beckham plans to use that time to learn more about the Rams’ play and attack system. He hopes that will give him the opportunity to contribute more in the game against the Packers. And he is encouraging his teammates to rise from the loss to prepare for that competition.
