The finalists of the cutest rescue dog of 2022 are waiting for your vote
Each year, People Magazine Organizes the World’s Cutest Rescue Dog Contest to encourage dog adoption. The previous two winners were Heaven, smiling dogand Lamb Chop, puppy factory survivor. Now, in 2022, People are looking for a new winner and thousands of dogs want to take the top spot.
People narrowed down the contestants to ten adorable rescue dogs, and now they want the public to help them pick the top three. From there, the jury will choose the cutest rescue dog this year.
Meet the 10 adorable finalists
Here are the 10 cutest rescue dogs in 2022, according to People Magazine Readers. It’s a tough choice, but you can only choose one person to vote.
Gordon
Gordon was lost in Taiwan when he was hit by a car and paralyzed. After rehabilitation, the 11-year-old dog has now been adopted and flown to the US to be with his family forever.
panda
Panda’s family said they were attracted to her at the local animal shelter because of her beautiful colors and “sparkling” eyes. A 5-year-old Pomeranian girl loves to play on the beach with her human.
Merle
Merle once got lost in Mexico, but after ending up in a shelter in Colorado, the 8-year-old now has a family that loves him. They called him “Ryan Reynolds of the dog world”.
Winnie
Winnie, 5, was rescued after being found in an abandoned house. She was there to support her humans through many difficult times, so when Winnie was adopted, they rescued each other.
Koda
9-year-old Koda’s human used to be very afraid of dogs until Koda helped her overcome those fears. She often calls the dog by its nickname: “Canine Yoda.”
Ratel
Minkus is a lovely young dog, recently adopted after being adored by his family for his quirky looks and lovable personality. A 2-year-old puppy can be a mix of a Pug, French Bulldog, and Boston Terrier.
Monastery
5-year-old Abbey is a registered therapy dog. She gave birth to six puppies before she found it forever home.
Gizmo
Adorable Gizmo is only a year old, and he loves hiking in the Rocky Mountains with his family.
Mugsy
5-year-old Mugsy is a cross between a Pekingese and a Pug, so his family describes him as a “unicorn among dogs”.
Tiny heart
Tiny Tim is a lovely big dog at the age of 14. He ended up in a shelter with a broken leg, and his story inspired his new self to become a veterinarian.
How to vote for your favorite
You can vote for your favorite rescue dog at People.com. Voting runs through September 28 and winners will be announced on October 12.
