A Florida woman caused a scene at a motel 6, which ended with her throwing her German shepherd dog across the balcony. An officer captured the entire exchange on video, and the suspect was arrested shortly thereafter. Thankfully, the dog survived the fall and was taken away from the woman who injured her. But as suspected, the dog now named “Miracle” is being shaken by this horrifying event.
A disturbance at Motel 6
Staff members rushed to the motel after reports of a woman threatening to jump off a balcony. The staff explained that the woman also attacked a maid amid the chaos. So the officers rushed to her motel room and knocked on the door. After no response, they prepared to unlock the door with the owner’s key. But then the woman suddenly rushed out the door with a German Shepherd in her arms.
At first, the officers assumed she was just carrying the dog somewhere, but then she toss the dog across the balcony without warning. The recording officer couldn’t believe his eyes. He quickly apprehended the woman, but she tried her best to resist. Fortunately, with the help of other officers, they were able to carry her to the police car.
Fortunately, the dog Miracle landed at her feet, but she panicked and ran away. A group of witnesses worked together to get her back to safety. Jose Carnot spotted the dog running past her food truck with a leash pulled behind her. He knows something is wrong, so he runs after Miracle and rescues her.
“I didn’t see anyone around and I said ‘let me get the dog first [she] enter the highway. ‘ If I hadn’t been here at Pikaro’s, we would never have gotten the dog to safety,” Carnot said. “That’s not how pets should be treated. If you want a pet, you must treat [them] the right.”
Miracle when the dog recovers
The woman, named Allison Murphy, was being held at the Volusia County Jail. She is currently facing animal cruelty charges and resisting arrest. She initially refused to see the judge, but then the judge ordered her to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Officials rushed Miracle to the Animal Hospital of the Atlantic for emergency treatment. Overall, she seems healthy after the fall besides the fear. However, later, X-ray pictures showed her being pushed into her thigh by a sewing needle, which was then removed through surgery.
Miracle currently works at Volusia County Animals Services, where she is recovering from the procedure. Within the next few weeks, trials will be held to discuss custody of Miracle. Hopefully she will soon find a new home where she will be appreciated. No dog deserves to go through what she went through, so her safety is truly a miracle.
