From I drove them back in 2021, I spent a lot of time configuring the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwings and CT4-V Blackwings on the Cadillac website. After limited production “Ice Dark Emerald” the car is sold out, I have left the middle “Metal Rift,” And “blue electricity,” but never actually found a color that I sold 100% of. 2023 brings “Maverick Noir Frost” and some other options, but I really want to see something like BMW”metal thunder.”
For the year 2024, a new color group has appeared and while none of them are purple and more than half of them are grayscale, there is now a yellow option, “Cyber” Yellow Metallic” illustrated above on the CT4-V Blackwing. (Yes, I know it’s magical that these things exist and there’s probably a need to focus on the colors people will actually buy.)
It reminds me of another nice BMW color, Yellow phoenix but with a little more pop, and more importantly, it suits me general theory of automotive paint, which means “normal form cars should have wilder colors, and supercars and supercars should be beige.” I probably wouldn’t make a yellow Ferrari, but a yellow sports sedan from an American manufacturer? Yes, I believe that makes sense.
And while the CT5-V BW looks amazing when it says, “Summit White” (below), I have to do my part to combat the graying of the American auto panel.
