Texas 2 years old in training Date of Sale Set for 2023
The Texas Two-Year Sale of 2023 will be held on April 5, 2023 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, TX. The show is scheduled for Monday, April 3, 2023.
“We had a lot of interest in our 2023 sale season,” said Foster Bridewell, Sales Manager for the Thoroughbred Society of Texas. “Our two-year-old sale has certainly gotten stronger in quality over the past few years, and those horses have performed well on racetracks around the midwest and south.”
Last year’s $200,000 sales head, Free Drop Maddy, broke her maidenhood in the $150,000 Texas Purebred Futures Association at Lone Star Park, after a stellar second at its debut at Churchill Downs. Most recently, she won the Donovan L. Ferguson Memorial Share at the Fair Grounds for Mansfield Racing and Bret Calhoun. And 2022 graduate Tensas Candy won $100,000 of My Trusty Cat Stakes at Delta Downs for Terrell Jarrett Jr and Jorge Lara earlier this month; She was purchased for $29,000 from the Bryan Ford consignment.
“Our graduates are proof of the quality our shippers deliver each year,” Bridewell said. “We’re excited to be working on delivering another solid edition in April.”
The show is set for Monday, April 3, on the Lone Star Park grounds. The sale will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, inside the sales booth.
The deadline for the Texas 2-year-old Training Discount is January 16, 2023, and deposit forms are available at www.tasales.com.
