Tesla Semi graphics appear in Tesla iOS app

The Tesla Semi is fast approaching, with reports claiming that on December 1, Pepsi will ship 10 to 15 battery-powered Semis. Behind the scenes, Tesla is preparing for deliveries to customers by updating its iOS App with information about the Semi and Cybertruck. One a costume called Tesla App Update always jump into the code when the new app version drops and it has detached v4.14.3, discover the code for Model T as Semi and Model C specify Cybertruck. Also hidden where normal app users won’t find them are 3D images of Semi. Tesla App Update Posted Raw Files That Twitter Users OlympusDev then renders with color. It is expected that these images will be graphical representations of Semi’s information display.

Previous renders have left a lot to the imagination, this new set adds even more. The driver’s door opens in a suicide mode, behind the driver. We don’t have a picture of the right side of the Semi yet, but based on the position of the handles, it looks like the passenger doors will open in a similar way. Now we want to know if the window can be lowered or not. From a cockpit perspective, a set of strong handles encourages us to think of the front windows as vents, hinged at the front, opening at the rear. Stepping outside again, we can see the trunk front and center, and the super charging port behind the driver’s door.

A pair of large mirrors stands at the end of a long tree trunk. When the US decides to allow mirror mounting, the update will mean a huge improvement in terms of aerodynamics. At the rear, it’s interesting to note how far the side and top fenders extend over the end of the cabin. Perspective probably makes this look deeper but there’s hardly any traditional Class 8 truck run fairings behind the taxi.

The cockpit is left empty for the driver and the console is installed on the right. The only object on the left is a screen next to the steering wheel, which matches the screen on the right. Since we can’t see any dials, it looks like Tesla will go fully digital with the truck’s traditional gauges. The only analog-looking switches are in the niche on the right, which we’re guessing is for the air brake. The dashboard frames what appears to be a storage area and includes cup holders and cupboards.

Tesla’s massive Nevada factory is ramping up to make 20 Semis a week. Specifications were previously listed 300 mile range with 600 kilowatt hour power the battery, 500 miles with a 1,000 kWh battery, and less than 2 kWh per mile for the three rear-axle motors. Tesla says a supercharger will restore 70% of its charge in 30 minutes; 600 kWh battery that can be charged at full speed 840 kW, the large battery exceeds the milestone when charging 1.4 MW. Load up to 80,000 pounds, 0-60 mph will cut in 20 seconds. Base price from 2017 launch is $150,000 for Semi with small battery, $180,000 for large battery, and $200,000 for Founders Edition.

More up-to-date specifications will appear online around Pepsi’s delivery time.
