Jeep and Ram’s “clean EcoDiesel” models resulted in a $300 million fine. California drivers now have another way to get into the Tesla Model Y. And could the same bill paying back the EV tax credit accelerate the shift to electric pickups? This and more, here Green Car Report.

The same settlement bill that is said to have a good chance of moving through the Senate, includes an expanded EV tax credit, which also includes up to one $40,000 tax credit for semi-electricity and other commercial trucks. California drivers can now register for Tesla Model Y in May — with Autonomy’s expansions recently adding the best-selling EV in the US Now, Tesla has removed the ability to purchase at the end of a lease, what looks like a deal better than first service with Model 3.

And a Detroit federal court on Monday sentenced the FCA, now part of Stellantis, with a fine of about $300 million for using other active diesel emission control devices when tested versus in the real world. Penalties related to more than 100,000 2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 models with EcoDiesel badging.
