Tesla, Elon Musk Welcome To India But Only By Government Policy: Minister of Heavy Industry

“Tesla, Elon Musk is welcome to India but only according to the policy of the country,” he added.

In August of last year, Musk said that Tesla might set up a manufacturing unit in India if it first succeeds with imported cars in the country.

Currently, India levies a 100% import tax on imported CBU cars with a CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) value above $40,000 (approximately Rs 30 lakh) and 60% on those with a CIF value. less than this amount.
