Supersport / GP2 Feature Race

Rhys Irwin fueled his first Supersport win as he took home Astro-JJR Suzuki’s team victory.

Irwin – who had been in the top 5 for most of the weekend – soon took the lead in the 20-lap race and despite being late in the lead by Stapleford, he won in 0.076 seconds.

Aussie Ben Currie crossed the third line, just ahead of fellow countryman Tom Toparis when Eugene McManus finished fifth.

Kiwi Damon Rees made the top 10 while Seth Crump came in at 14th.

It’s been great to have two solid finishes across the board after running DNF’s and even though the results weren’t what we wanted – especially after finishing first and second here last year – we’ve got two. solid racing. Missed the test here a few weeks ago, we played catch up and my team and I were constantly making changes to try and improve the setup, which we did. It was hard to squeeze it all out in the amount of time we had but we left every time we went out. We want to go further, but we also don’t want to be on the deck, so we’ll take the results this weekend and move on to the next round..”

Tumut’s Brayden Elliott finished ninth.
