Street bullying in Petaling Jaya captured on video – Bezza driver threatened with beating for honking

Even in an age where videos can be recorded on demand, drivers’ emotions are still getting better despite the high probability that their outbursts will be recorded as evidence, as this incident in Petaling Jaya, Selangor showed.

From footage captured by a Perodua Bezza passenger in this video, the Bezza driver is confronted by another angry Nissan Sentra driver signaling the Bezza driver to pull over and stop, apparently due to an earlier conflict on the road before the video started.

The Bezza driver was obligated to comply and both drivers involved got out of their cars to exchange, which was particularly hot on one side. Here, the Sentra driver quickly returned to his vehicle to retrieve and use what appeared to be a wooden stick, and even momentarily raised it to perform a swing. Thankfully, action after that didn’t happen.

In the comment section on the video, the author of the post recording the video said that the conflict arose because the Bezza driver honked the horn with the Sentra driver. Meanwhile, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) responded to the author of the video posted on Twitter, asking those involved to report it to the police.

In such a situation, it is best to stay calm and continue on your way as safely as possible; In most cases, the best way to defuse the situation is to avoid further confrontation. If you can help it, between run and fight reactions, try to choose the answer first.

If you must stop, as was the case with this Bezza driver, try to stay in the car and lock the doors, despite curiosity or a natural reaction to confrontation. If there is any threat to your safety during the episode, as apparently happened in this case, report it to the police after the incident. For collision-related incidents, a dash cam working to provide evidence would be invaluable here.
