Stray Pit Bull thanks her new self by saving his life

Chad Mason of Canton, Ohio, met his Pit Bull named Bunny when he least expected it. Around Easter 2021, Bunny is a stray who wanders over to Mason’s house and immediately falls in love with him. Mason had just moved into his current home when the dog ducked under his feet and followed him.

At first, Mason took the stray dog to the Stark County Canine Department, but it took less than a week for him to decide to adopt her. However, when he brought her home, he never imagined that one day she would rescue him.

Rescue dog becomes a lifeguard

A few months after Mason adopted Bunny, he suffered a brain stroke. He was in the house with no one else at home, but Bunny knew something was wrong right away.

“I remember hitting the floor. My right side is not working. My dog started panicking,” Mason said. “She’s sure the monster already knows something’s wrong.”

Somehow, Mason managed to crawl from the bathroom floor to the front door. He opens it hoping to find help, but Bunny has the situation under control. She ran to the end of the driveway and barked repeatedly until someone noticed.

Misty Gore, who lives across the street, comes outside to check on Bunny. She knew a dog’s barking was an unusual behavior, so she suspected something was wrong. By then, Mason had already crawled out, so Gore ran home to get his phone to call for help. Bunny has been watching her the whole time.

Bunny is a hero!

Chad faced a long period of recovery after that moment, but things would have been worse if Bunny hadn’t been around. At first, walking and speaking was difficult, but since then, he has improved dramatically. When asked if Bunny is a hero to him, he said he never thought of it that way, but he agreed that ‘hero’ is a great word to describe. describe her.

“I think she’s amazing,” Gore said. “She saved his life.”

“When they see something out of the ordinary, obviously, they warn about it. They will realize that something is wrong,” says Barber.

There are always great shelter dogs like Bunny who are always looking for homes and this experience underscores how loyal rescue dogs can be.
