Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life Release Date
In Japan, SoS: AWL will launch on January 26, 2023. Elsewhere in the world, the date is simply “”Summer 2023“.
Similar delays between Japan and elsewhere are not uncommon in the Story of Seasons series — Friends of Mineral Town doing it again took another nine months, Town trio on the 3DS took seven months, and Pioneers of Olive Town only had one month between releases — so rest assured that nothing dangerous or catastrophic.

Unlike other long-awaited titles like Pikmin 4 and Prime Minister 4AWL has a much simpler timeline.

Story of Seasons: What is a Wonderful Life?
Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is a remake of the original 2004 GameCube game, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, one of the best-selling Harvest Moon games of all time (and still loved by many until now. up to this day).
In A Wonderful Life, you play as a young male farmer who takes over his father’s farm with only a dog, a cow, and an empty field. What makes the game so remarkable is that it actually has an overarching storyline that spans 30 years, where as your farmer gets married, has children, ages and eventually dies, your son chooses a another career based on how you raised it.
Then a remake called Another wonderful life lets you play the role of a female farmer, with the chance to marry one of three singles and have a daughter instead of a son. There is also a PS2 game called Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition that still forces you to play a man, but adds a singleton, Lumina, and leaves you with a daughter.
In terms of actual gameplay, you’ll breed animals, grow crops, and get to know people in town. Here is the introduction from the game page:

Wait, what happened to Harvest Moon?
Story of Seasons is a sequel to the Harvest Moon series, but Natsume – the company that translated the original games – now has the rights to the Harvest Moon name (and nothing else). They want to release their Harvest Moon games around the same time as Story of Seasons, we suspect they’re taking advantage of the confusion between the two — and Their next product, Winds of Anthos, is also coming Summer of 2023.
