Showtime is putting on a very interesting super bantamweight title fight tonight as Stephen Fulton wins 20 – 0 over Daniel Roman 29-3-1 for the WBC and WBO welterweight world titles. The fight is the main event of a televised card that will take place at the Armory in Minneapolis and will be televised starting at 9:00 p.m. ET. The Roman-Fulton match is important not only for the titles at stake, but also because the winner will hold two of the division’s four major belts. The other two – IBF and WBA – go to Murodjon Akhmadaliev, who removed those belts from Roman in 2020.
“The winner of this fight,” says Fulton, who has been nicknamed the greatest in professional sports history (Cool Boy Steph), “needs to have undisputed goals…once we are concerned. mind this war, hopefully we will go next undisputed. However, Roman of Los Angeles, who is 32 years old, about 5 years older than rival Philly, was not an easy night of work for any boxer. He also looked the necessary confidence going into Saturday’s game. “I’m up against a good fighter who doesn’t have many flaws,” Roman said, via Forbes“But every man has a weakness, and I will exploit Fulton.”
Believe it or not, Roman will really have to give the performance of a lifetime this weekend. Defending champion Fulton won his WBO title by defeating undefeated Angelo Leo last January. He then went on to win his WBC title by beating the undefeated Brandon Figueroa. No one can say that Fulton is afraid of top competition. It’s really refreshing to see a footballer continue to show a genuine desire for a career, as Fulton did. However, there is always a serious risk in always challenging yourself. However, Fulton wouldn’t do it any other way.
“He’s looking to get back to the top,” Fulton said of the former Roman, making it clear that he expects his opponent to leave it all in the ring on Saturday night. It was something that Roman made no secret of. “The world will see a dramatically improved version of me in this fight,” he said. “I’m going to throw a lot of punches until the final bell rings, and I’m about to go away.” Honestly, it’s too bad this card will go head to head with the George Kambosos-Devin Haney lightweight title pitcher that aired on ESPN. Both deserve the full attention of their fans.
