Stanley Fables: Ultra Deluxe will finally be out in early 2022
Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is now “complete with content” and will launch in early 2022. This news comes from the Crows Crows developers and a self-mocking new trailer about the development delay. developed so far.
Ultra Deluxe is an “extended re-imagining” of the original game from 2013, in which you play as Stanley, an office worker whose action draws feedback from a nimble narrator. You can do as the narrator says or object to his remarks, and the story plays out in funny and surprising ways that I won’t spoil.
This is that, but I guess and many more times, and possibly other. Ultra Deluxe is being made by Crows Crows, the team founded by one half of the original Stanley Parable development team, William Pugh. Crows³ has also created games like Accounting+ and free of charge (and excellent) Dr. Langeskov, The Terrible Cursed Tiger and Emerald: The Whirlwind Thief.
The original remake has been announced back in 2018 with a 2019 release date, so it’s had a few delays since then. That seems almost done which means it has a New Steam page that you might love it.
If you played the original and want to remember why it was great, check out Pip’s interview with Pugh and fellow creator Davey Wreden about the game’s impossible architecture.
