Ghostwire: Tokyo is coming! If you’ve pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of the game digitally, you’ll be able to get yours started today, March 22 to enjoy Tokyo’s haunted streets early before the main game. Official release on March 25th.
But before you dive into Ghostwire: Tokyo, we have some quick tips to help get your journey started. From exploration tips to some combat hints, we hope this guide helps you become a ghost hunter in no time.
Walk upright
With an eye-catching mix of traditional architecture and a modern skyline, the Tokyo version of Ghostwire asks you to take you up to the rooftops to explore. Get some air from grappling with Tengus and use your ethereal surfing to reach areas quickly, uncover hidden secrets, and even get a vantage point against some guys! unsuspecting enemy.
Rule of cats and dogs
While Tokyo’s mass disappearance has decimated much of the city’s population, there are still a few survivors, including some of the area’s animal inhabitants. Using your abilities, you can read the minds of dogs and cats you come across, and some even have quests for you to accept. Stock up on pet food and you can even enjoy junk food! After all, who could say no to such a face?
Speaking of animals, look out for Nekomata’s meowing sound, which will alert you to hidden collections nearby. They can give you Meika to spend on useful items at the shops, as well as lead you to the secrets of the world.
Spiritual absorption
Tokyo’s disappearance has left a few remaining souls trapped throughout the city. Using katashiro paper dolls, you can absorb these spirits and keep them away from the nefarious plans of Hannya and his guests. After absorbing enough souls, report to any stalls nearby to take them to safety, giving you a Meika and XP bonus that you can use to level up your skills . Throughout the game, you’ll also come across additional katashiro dolls, allowing you to absorb more souls before having to deposit them in the phone booth.
Don’t follow the path
The streets of Ghostwire: Tokyo are rich, varied, and detailed, with plenty to do and intrigue outside of the main story. Take in the temptation and explore the city for collectibles, side quests, and world yokai activities. Side quests not only allow you to dive deeper into the world of the game, they are also a good source of spirits to collect (as well as magatama, a rare resource used to unlock areas of the game. more advanced in your skill tree).
Strategize
Visitors often attack in groups and can overwhelm you if you are surrounded. Try maneuvering around enemies and strategically positioning them to keep them in check – or line them up for a well-placed blast or massive water blast using Ethereal Weaving your to destroy many enemies at once!

Bringing some food with you on your adventures isn’t just nutritious – it’s your primary way to restore health during a battle. Look out for snacks that talk about the city and shop at convenience stores before heading into your next big get-together. For an extra boost, you can eat a special ‘other food’, perhaps even adding a temporary boost after you eat it. Also, don’t be afraid to spend some of your upgrades to expand your food storage – it may not be the flashiest of improvements but trust us, you’ll be glad to have more stuff! there to eat when things start to heat up .
If you haven’t pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition, you can still do so and enjoy a head start. The Deluxe Edition features the full base game along with a Shinobi Outfit, a Kunai Weapon item, and a Streetwear Pack. All physical and digital pre-orders for the Deluxe Edition will also include the Hannya skin and the Premium Biker Outfit Pack (which comes with eight color variations for the Biker Outfit) to wear in the game.
