Space for non-binding parties to reach new publisher agreements

Beautiful Toge Productions and Mojiken Studios Space for non-binding is finally back on track for worldwide console release after striking a new publisher deal with Chorus Worldwide. The game’s new publisher is responsible for bringing games like Coffee Talk (and its upcoming sequel, Hibiscus & butterfly), When the past is still aroundand Dungeon Munchies to convert.

This news follows allegations that the game’s previous publisher, PQube Games, take advantage of the Indonesian heritage of the developers and leave them feeling “exploited”. PQube will no longer release the game in any territories.

No new date has been announced for A Space for the Unbound, but according to a list above Japanese Rakutenphysical versions of the PS5 and Switch releases are dated January 19, 2023 (via Gematsu).

Dear fans of Space for non-binding:

We are pleased to confirm that Toge Productions, Mojiken Studio, PQube and Chorus Worldwide have reached an agreement to the satisfaction of all parties involved in the release. Space for non-binding. As for the PC version, Toge Productions will continue to release the game worldwide, while Chorus Worldwide will now be the global publisher for all console versions. The release schedule will be announced soon.

While there are commercial differences to some terms of the agreement between the parties, all parties want to make it clear that:

  1. All funding received by PQube is received by Toge Productions.
  2. PQube has fully supported returning the rights to Toge Productions.

Toge, Mojiken, PQube or Chorus will not make any public statements on this matter. Toge, Mojiken and PQube are grateful for Chorus Worldwide’s support in coming up with a mutually agreed upon solution, and wish each other well in future endeavors. PQube was also recently accused by Aeterno Blade II Corecell’s development team “deduct payments“, and this still seems to happen on September 6th according to the developer.

A Space for the Unbound is an adventure game with a lifelike feel. Set in late 90s Indonesia, the film is about two high school sweethearts with supernatural powers.
