To be eligible for a 20% discount on award flights, your flight booking needs to meet the following conditions:
- Valid for bookings made before October 20.
- Valid on flights between now and December 15.
- Book with promo code “SAVE20NOW” or by visiting this page.
Historically, Southwest has had one of the most liberal flight rebooking policies. If you booked a reward seat on a flight that is eligible for the promotion, you can change your booking to take advantage of a 20% discount (if the reward price hasn’t increased since you booked it) .

Use this promotion
On a $210 flight from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Orlando International Airport (MCO), you can spend 11,760 points on Wanna Get Away fares using this promotion. TPG . Value Quick Rewards points at 1.5 cents each, so 11,760 Quick Rewards points are worth $176.40. By using the 20% prize promotion you will get about 1.9 cents per point.
Or, if you’re flying from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Miami International Airport (MIA), you can buy a Wanna Get Away ticket for as low as 12,006 points or $180.09. That’s just a savings of over 3,000 points off the original price.
Remember that Southwest Rapid Rewards prices award tickets based on the cash price of the fare, so you’re unlikely to get more than 1.5 cents per point when redeeming. That makes this sale attractive for those with a lot of Quick Rewards points, as it offers the unique opportunity to get more than 1.5 cents each.
