SOAD’s Serj Tankian joins metal legends to score Metal: Hellsinger – Destructoid
Expected Player Toxicity
Funcom released a new intro for its upcoming apocalypse shooter Metal: Hellsinger – the new video features the unmistakable vocals of Serj Tankian, longtime frontman of the metal band System of a Down. Tankian joins the list of metal legends that will carry the echoes of the violent chaos of the next-gen shooter.
“What more can you say! We have so many System of a Down fans in the studio, it’s just unreal to add Serj Tankian to our already incredible roster of singers,” said The Outsiders developer David Goldfarb. “He completely killed the track and made it his own in a way only Serj could. We are so excited and can’t wait to see everyone compete! ”
As FPS fans will immediately note, Metal: Hellsinger highlights the typical apocalyptic sense of the genre’s origins, crafted in titles like Doom, Hexen, Quake, and Heretic. However, in an exciting new twist on classic first-person gameplay, players will be rewarded with the ability to run the gun ‘n’ to the beat of the game’s impressive score, linking the finishing touches. put together and timely meat killing actions with music – A similar gimmick is explored to solid effect in the 2021 release BPM: Bullets per Minute.
Tankian joins a roster of composers that has included Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz, Trivium’s Matt Heafy and Lamb of God Randy Blythe’s soothing tunes. More artists are expected to be announced in the near future. It seems like Mike Patton should definitely be here, but the leader of Faith No More / Fantomas is currently out of work making a lot of money, so that might just be my wishful thinking.
Metal: Hellsinger Currently in development for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X.
