FFVII remake composer rearranged ‘Weiss the Immaculate’ by ear


ABOVE TwitterSquare Enix shared that Masashi Hamauzu, who composed “Weiss the Immaculate” for the original Final Illusion VII, rearrange it by ear cho FFVII remake. For some reason, he didn’t use the original track in the process.

Square Enix also uploaded the track to Twitter for players to listen to. The song is just over a minute and a half long.

Accompanying the song on Twitter is Weiss’ cutscene from VII remake. He is an Underworld SOLDIER who originally appeared in the spin-off game Cerberus’ Dirge. Even though he’s not in the original The Last Illusion VIIWeiss is in Redo like a secret boss. You can fight him in Shinra Combat Simulator.

Masashi Hamauzu is a composer who has composed a lot The Last Illusion games during his career at Square Enix. He became a leading composer after the death of Nobuo Uematsu in 2004, and composed for Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and FFXII trilogy of works. Outside of The Last Illusion game, he also worked on Wild Heart, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and WiiUAnd SaGa Frontier 2.

After FFVII Remake, Square Enix often posts tidbits about the game’s development and history on Twitter. Previously, it shared information about Scarlet’s infantry, Ottoman. He really is her foot soldier, in the sense that she uses his back as a footrest.
