Sky: Children of Light known for its ethereal, mysterious atmosphere. So it’s only fitting that its upcoming collaboration is with an artist known to many as a mystical, ethereal vocalist. Developer thatgamecompany bills the event, called Season of Aurora, as a one-of-a-kind experience with Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA.
AURORA has produced popular songs like “Escape“, and contributed to the soundtrack of the Disney movie Frozen 2. In addition, she plays the role of “Voice“, An ethereal presence called Elsa to leave her kingdom.

Sky developed by thatgamecompany, the company also developed Journeys. In it, the player controls a “Child of Light” and flies in a variety of environments, collecting scattered light to return the stars in the sky. Players solve puzzles, explore, interact, and cooperate with strangers using unique multiplayer mechanics.
The teaser doesn’t reveal when the event will go live beyond the “Fall 2022” window or much about its nature. That said, it presents the folk-style artwork of Sky focuses on a figure standing on a podium, seen by many people during a ceremony or celebration. The clip closes with AURORA’s lyrics. Could Season of Aurora be a live virtual concert of some sort, or some sort of ongoing event? Thatgamecompany promises more details at Tokyo Game Show 2022, currently scheduled for mid-September.
