SIGMA announces development of 65mm T1.5 FF CINE Prime and 65mm T2.5 FF CINE Classic Prime lenses


Sigma today announced the development of two new cinema lenses along with exciting news for those looking to build each of their kits.

65mm T1.5 FF CINE Prime

The 65mm T1.5 FF CINE Prime features a wide aperture with a 43.3mm image circle suitable for larger image sensors. Additionally, users will enjoy a 9-blade circular aperture for smoother bokeh, a close focusing distance of 2.17 ft (0.65 m) and a maximum magnification of 1:7.9. The 65mm T1.5 FF CINE Prime will be available in PL (Technology/i compatible), EF, and E mount options. Pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.

65mm T2.5 FF CINE Classic Prime

The 65mm T2.5 FF CINE Classic Prime features a wide aperture with a 43.3mm image circle suitable for larger image sensors. Additionally, users will enjoy a 9-blade circular aperture for smoother bokeh, a close focusing distance of 2.17 ft (0.65 m) and a maximum magnification of 1:7.9. The 65mm T1.5 FF CINE Prime will be available in PL (Technology/i compatible), EF, and E mount options. Aside from the narrower aperture, the key difference is that the Classic Prime has a design that utilizes a lens. uncoated glass, allowing users to get both high-resolution and low-contrast photos with flare and ghosting for cinematic effects. Pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.

With the new 65mm lens, Sigma now offers 11 full-frame compatible prime lenses, and for the first time, all lenses in the range (14mm to 135mm) will be available for individual purchase instead of as a full set.
