Shelter dogs can’t wait to spend their first Thanksgiving in a real home
Thanksgiving is for families, which is why our November Flight to Freedom will take 85 at-risk shelter pets to permanent homes.
On November 19, the Animal Rescue website is helping Greater Good Charities drive 35 dogs and 50 cats to shelters from Louisiana, where overcrowded shelters cause rescued animals to die. mortality risk. The rescue flight will land in the Pacific Northwest, where adoption demand is skyrocketing.
Back in Louisiana, these shelter pets were threatened by hurricanes, overcrowded shelters, and the constant threat of heartworm disease. Now they are flying to an area where animals are adopted for a few days.
Our November 19 flight to Freedom included dogs like Finly, Lyla and Grimm, all lovely shelter pets eager to experience their first Thanksgiving with their families. Louisiana shelter pets Daisy and Walken are also eager to start anew as family pets in the Pacific Northwest.
Flights to Freedom are also saving them from overcrowded shelters – and literally saving their lives.
But Flight to Freedom also relies on reader donations, which is why we need your help to get all 85 shelter animals to safety and adoption by the 19th. 11. Your $5 donation will help us buy 125 miles for a pet traveler in need. Larger donations help us save even more animals.
