Shelters are an overwhelming place, especially for scary dogs. A puppy named Lala spent the day crouched under a table, shaking uncontrollably. The shelter contacted Lee from The Asher House and prayed that he could help her.
The shelter volunteers say she won’t let them touch her for weeks, but Lee is different. Even though Lala was petrified, she still allowed him to come close and touch her face within minutes! Lee tied a chain around her, but it was clear from her behavior that he needed to be patient with her. He let go of the leash several times until she was ready to walk beside him. Lala finally arrived and led Lee out of the hatch.
Lee took Lala to the parking lot and pressed the button to open the tailgate. When it started to open, she jumped in before the back door opened completely. This puppy is ready to leave the shelter with someone he trusts. On the way back to The Asher House, Lala kissed Lee passionately and jumped into his lap.
When they arrived at Lee’s, it was time to introduce Lala to the herd. He got her mixed up with the little dogs first to make her comfortable, then the bigger challenges! Lala’s journey and transformation is unbelievable! Thank you Lee for everything you do for animals in need!
