Shawn Porter: “I think he [Terence Crawford] Know that I’m the only one in the world who can beat him.”

There’s a long list of names Shawn Porter could face on his first trip to the ring this year. However, despite holding high rankings in most sanctioning bodies, and his choice of age among current champions, Porter chose to join the weightlifting champion athlete. WBO, Terence Crawford.

Now, next weekend on November 20th, at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, both will officially come to an end. While Porter entered their contest as a pretty big loser, he didn’t heed the voices of the betting market.

Porter’s growing confidence in his upcoming game against Crawford stems from multiple sources. From the very beginning, Porter built his name and reputation against some of the best fighters in the heavyweight division. With wins over the likes of Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner and current WBA belt holder, Yordenis Ugas – Porter believes his résumé is getting better and better than Crawford’s.

In addition to Porter’s reputation in the ring, the two-time £147 title winner believes he knows Crawford inside and out. Spending countless hours with amateurs in Omaha, Nebraska, both Crawford and Porter forged a strong friendship. And while he clearly knows that Crawford is absolutely confident in his skills, Porter believes he knows something else about the star.

“I think he knew that I was the only person in the world who could beat him,” Porter said.

So far, the 34-year-old Crawford has created an invincible and indelible aura. On his most recent trip to the ring, Crawford made former IBF belt, Kell Brook, IBF belt holder Kell Brook, stop him in the fourth round quickly and easily.

Although Crawford went on to win, he called on the likes of Errol Spence Jr., Keith Thurman and Yordenis Ugas, to share the stage with him.

While it’s unclear if Crawford will ever get his wish, Porter fully believes that if Crawford successfully beats him this Saturday night, no one else will stand a chance.
