Shalom offers Joyce-Parker ‘big deal’ on pay-per-view
New Joseph Parker promoter Ben Shalom says a ‘big offer’ has been made for Joe Joyce to face the New Zealander on Sky Sports Box Office.
Parker and Joyce look set to battle each other this summer on BT Sport but negotiations have broken down leaving the former WBO champion to signed with BOXXER and Sky Sports.
Joyce, promoted by Frank Warren, will play against Christian Hammer on July 2nd while Parker is still waiting for a new date and opponent. Shalom though wants a deal done for the two heavyweights to battle each other this year.
Shalom said to Sky Sports News:
“We make a big offer.”
“It was a war where he [Parker] would like. He still wants to have big fights. We’ve made a big offer for Joe Joyce. ”
“I know they (Queensbury Ads) wouldn’t want Joe on the Sky stage but for me it was a big fight. So why not raise your profile, have a big fight on Sky Sports Box Office and still be back (with BT Sport). ”
Joyce is the current number one contender with the WBO one spot, two more than Parker. And in the WBC rankings, the two men are in second and third place, respectively.
