Retired four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel is expected to reunite with the Red Bull RB7 from his 2011 title-winning campaign. New sailing team owner will make a run on the Nürburgring Nordschleife as part of the Formula Red Bull Nürburgringa motorsport festival held as a prelude to the annual 12-hour race at the legendary track.

If you weren’t an F1 fan at the time and needed a quick recap, Sebastian Vettel became a force of nature in 2011. Sure, he won his first championship in 2010 after a four-way title fight came to an end at the opening of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was different in 2011. It wasn’t even close. Vettel has won 11 of the 19 races this season. In eight other races, he finished second five times. Many assumed that the Adrian Newey-designed car earned him that championship, but his teammate, Mark Webber, won only a single race and finished third in the scoring charts. Again, Vettel is a force of nature.

Vettel will participate in this event by Daniel Ricciardo, who will be driving a Red Bull RB8 from the 2012 season. Vettel’s RB7 will run on synthetic fuel for the duration of the event because he has promised to never drive a conventional fuel-powered race car again. The show will be the first time F1 cars have circled the Nordschleife since 2013, when Michael Schumacher drove a Mercedes F1 on a 12.9-mile track.

The run will give racegoers and fans around the world a chance to look back at Vettel’s pinnacle a decade ago and watch the modern F1 car drive around a historic lap that hasn’t been held. a Grand Prix since 1976.
