Sea & Sea announces new leak alarm

Sea & Sea announced a New leak alarm device compatible with Nikon, Canon and Sony MDX cases, such as MDX-Z7II for Nikon Z7II/Z6II, MDX-R5 for Canon EOS R5, and MDX-α7III for Sony α7III / α7RIII.

Like similar humidity alarms, the unit features a multicolored LED, visible through the housing’s monitoring window, indicating when a vacuum has been established inside the housing (via the pump manual included) and when a leak is detected inside the housing. The alarm unit uses a coin-cell battery and runs for about 250 hours, according to Sea & Sea.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Leak alarm unit

Product number 46135

An alarm element prevents water leakage by creating negative pressure inside the housing and monitoring changes in pressure. The air pressure sensor and the leak sensor work double. On land, the waterproof property of the shield can be checked when the camera is placed. In water, the leak sensor reacts and gives an LED warning indicating if water leaks into the housing.

Advanced function installed!

Measure the air pressure and the presence or absence of water leaks in the housing every 0.2 seconds (200ms). It continuously monitors the inside of the housing.

Evaluate the air pressure value by converting the temperature to 20℃. It does not allow problems due to pressure fluctuations caused by the camera’s heat or changes in water temperature.

Battery life is about 250 hours when powered on. One battery charge allows long-term use.

Leak sensor

It monitors the air pressure inside the housing due to the negative pressure built up by the vacuum valve. It notifies sealing status by 3-color/flashing LED and alarm.

Valve

It attaches to the accessory port of the case and sucks air out of the case using the included manual pump.

3 color LED indicator

Red flashing
Flashes red when the switch is ON.

When the air enters the shell and it becomes equivalent to the outside pressure.

Flashing orange

While sucking the air out. If a leak (change in internal pressure) is detected after suction, a rapidly flashing orange warning is displayed.

Flashing green

The air has been sucked out and negative pressure is maintained inside the housing.

Red light

A water leak has occurred in the housing.

If the red, orange, and green LEDs flash rapidly, it’s a warning about battery drain.

It can be added to your home. We provide attachment services for SEA & SEA MDX homes that you use frequently.
