San Diego Padres agrees with right-hander Michael Wacha
The Padres San Diego further enhanced their rotation, agreeing to a deal with the right-hander Michael WachaSources confirmed to ESPN.
After seven seasons with the Cardinals, this will be Wacha’s fourth team in four seasons. He had average seasons with the Mets and Rays before finding his form again with the Red Sox last season. He won 11-2 with an ERA of 3.32 in 23 starts.
Now he joins Yu Darvish, Joe Musgrove, Blake Snell, Nick Martinez, Seth Lugo and Adrian Morejón are the Padres’ potential starters. San Diego could start the season with a six-man rotation.
The previously busy Padres re-signed Martinez, renewed Darvish and signed Lugo this season, in addition to extending Musgrove in August.
