Levine will hold the role until February 21, and she will remain an employee at Meta until officially leaving in the summer, according to the press release. The influential CEO was Instagram’s first COO and helped steer the photo-sharing app into one of Meta’s foundational apps alongside Facebook’s core app.
Levine was named Facebook’s chief business officer in the summer of 2021, months before the company changed its name to Meta to reflect its focus on undeveloped metadata.
Prior to joining Facebook, Marne served in the Obama administration as chief of staff for the National Economic Council at the White House and special assistant to the President for Economic Policy, and she started his career at the US Treasury Department under President Bill Clinton.
