Last week, Nintendo shared a special ‘Season 1’ Super Smash Bros. article on its official website.

Now it’s back this week with ‘Part 2’ – encouraging fans of the latest game to reflect on Ultimate’s history with Masahiro Sakurai, as he talks about each fighter jet reveal reveal scene by scene. .

Here’s the full message from Sakurai in this blog, in case you missed it the first time around:

The Super Smash Bros. series. is a project where we do a collaboration that you can’t see anywhere else. We wanted to take that opportunity and create interesting content for everyone to enjoy and that’s why we started making warrior reveal videos.

It takes a lot of work to make the videos while making the game at the same time, but always gets a great response from the fans, so it is well worth the effort. In this post, I’ll make some brief comments as we move on, so I hope you’ll enjoy watching all these videos again.

Take this opportunity to reflect on the history of Super Smash Bros. by watching the scenes where each new fighter first appeared. You may have seen some of the videos before, but they are well worth revisiting!

And these are just some of the revealing trailers featured in the latest blog. Focused heavily on DLC fighters, this is pretty cool:

Piranha Plant joins the battle!

The Piranha Plant reveal is an additional video for an early purchase bonus. So no CG part, only in-game part. Piranha Plants are not included in the Fighter Pass, so you need to purchase them separately. At the time, people said that they never expected the Piranha Factory to join the battle.

Masked Rebellion

Here’s the announcement video revealing the Joker as an official fighter. The actual announcement was made with “Take Your Heart”. It was made with the idea of Joker sneaking up to The Game Awards 2018 to steal Super Smash Bros.’s invite, so there will be two sets of dialogue: one for The Game Awards and one for the web version. The animations were done by Domerica, who also worked on the Joker’s original game cutscenes.

Best friends

With Banjo & Kazooie’s reveal video, we headed for what’s known in Japanese comedy terms as “tendon” (in English, “callback”), where we repeat the same joke all over again. . In this case, we followed the King K. Rool video. Of course, the ending was inspired by Gruntilda’s defeat in the original game.

One-winged angel

The movie FINAL FANTASY released in 2005 was a big hit. To know about Sephiroth’s joining Super Smash Bros., we created a highly produced video with the aim of achieving something close to that impact. The result was a huge response and the video is something you can really enjoy. This is also the launch of Cloud’s additional Final Smash, Omnislash Ver. 5.

The Last Key

This was the last boxer to be revealed, so we went back to the beginning and turned it into a finale. Creating a lot of fighters in CG would be a lot of work! Instead, we made the background black and plain, but I think this is the best way. The part in the game also goes really well. I think it’s a fitting ending.

Again, this isn’t every trailer highlighted in the latest blog, so head over to Nintendo’s page to see every other character that’s been mentioned. You can also check out our previous post for more characters:
