All The Genshin effect possible elements in their own right. Whether someone is trying to maximize their damage or build a response around they find it fun. Now that the game is a year old, it’s a time when there’s a lot of variety. However, in the last few months, a special factor is being noticed by a lot of people. It feels like The Genshin effect The geographical characters are having the opportunity to develop.
When The Genshin effect launch, the Geo characters are not exactly in the most desired position. Noelle, if properly constructed, can be useful! Everyone is also guaranteed her in the first 10 wishes on the Beginner’s Wish banner. Most other elements with at least three characters are available shortly after launch. Geo only had two launches. Both of them, Ningguang and Noelle, are four stars. Traveler, who has access to Geography as one of their second prime options, comes in as the only five stars. And while all three can be well built, they may not be as compelling as the element’s strengths. Both Ningguang and Noelle, while providing buffs, are also major DPS character types. When Albedo and Zhongli appeared, that began to change. Zhongli’s Jade Shield and Steeles and Albedo’s shield created by Transient Flowers really make the shields more appealing. (Especially since Zhongli also has her own set of Artifacts, Millelith’s Endurance.)
As of 2.3, their viability has only increased. Albedo’s return is particularly notable. Part of the “Shadows Amidst Snowstorms” event involves earning a four-star Cinnabar Spindle. This sword, which increases Elemental Skill’s damage by defending and has defense as a secondary stat, is arguably the best sword in the game for him. He also returned as soon as Husk of Op Acid Dreams, an Artifact set focused on increasing defense and rewarding characters for attacking Geo, appeared. So right off the bat, we see a five-star Geo return with good gear you can get for effort. (Though the sword is a timed item.)
It also helps that there are loads of unexpected extra Geography characters available in The Genshin effect. When Albedo appeared in 2.3, he joined the new Inazuma characters Gorou and Itto. Both belong to the same element. The former is the second Claymore user for it, albeit at a five star level. The latter marks the first archer for Geo and on rarity four stars. Not to mention in version 2.4, they will feature Yun Jin, a four-star pole gun user that anyone can get at any time. (Or maybe free via the Lantern Rite of 2022.) Zhongli, one of the most requested Geo units due to his tank nature, is also returning in patch 2.4. One could even argue that Ningguang could become more appealing to players, given the free bonus skins available in 2.4 Lantern Rite. At this point, every weapon and potential role is represented in the game.
Not to mention the parties with Geo characters will be more flexible like 2.3 and 2.4. Before the update, everyone might have gone with one or two people to a party. One might just include Noelle or Zhongli for their shield, as well as for Noelle’s healing, rather than thinking about resonance. But with people like Gorou and Itto, we see people getting rewarded for having three or four members with Geo as their element. Gorou, because both Elemental Skills and Burst are rewarded with additional buffs depending on whether one, two, or three allies are Geography units. Itto, because at the two Constellation buttons unlocked, his Elemental Burst gains more Energy and reduces its cooldown.
It all depends on the options for The Genshin effect player. In the year since launch, we’ve gone from a possible five-star Geography character and three represented weapons. People can now choose from a variety of four and five star units, each with a variety of weapons, multiple role types, and have a team with one, two, three, or four survivable Geographers. It is very encouraging.
