Ryan Garcia gives up the tuning fight to face the next Gervonta Davis

Ryan Garcia posted on social media on Friday: “Damn, tune in. “Go to Tank. DISCOVER HIM IN 2.” And just like that, the famous, undefeated and hard-fought Garcia made it clear he wouldn’t be up against anyone else before facing Gervonta Davis in 2023. Garcia was supposed to be up against veteran Mauricio Gesta before, but he clearly had a second thought. “I was thinking about it,” he posted, “in the time they learned about this fight and I feel like the fans and all the boxing supporters who have seen these tunes, have It’s about time we give our fans what they want. Also he asked for adjustment not me so let him handle the business. LET’S GO.”
Although Garcia and Davis will face each other in 2023 – at which time and place is yet to be determined – Davis has decided to take on Hector Luis Garcia for the first time on January 7. While his undefeated January opponent may be more than qualified to be considered a adjuster, Davis clearly sees this as a busy fight. Garcia, who clearly sees the fight with the Gesta as an adjustment, chose not to take his chances instead. And some will say with good reason. “Right call,” Arliel Helwani tweeted. “Why delay? Offer it now. Too much can go wrong.”
Garcia and Davis thrilled the fencing world in November when they announced to the public that they would indeed take down in 2023. “I’m so excited that this bout is finally happening,” says Ryan Garcia posted on social media. “I want it more than anything right now. I gave my best, I was at the peak of my career and I knew I was going to be the greatest boxer in the world. That legacy begins today.”
One of the reasons news of the impending Garcia-Davis fight was so welcomed, besides the fact that it was such a great matchup, is because boxing as a sport has been real. disappointing fans. Negotiations for a Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua fight in late 2023 have failed, as have negotiations for an Errol Spence-Terence Crawford superfight that is expiring. The news of two exciting, high-level warriors in their prime agreeing to go head-to-head in the coming months is exactly what it takes for sweet science fans. Here’s hoping nothing can stop the real Garcia-Davis fight from becoming a reality.
