It was a perfect start to Ryan Garcia’s 2021 combat campaign.

The hugely confident 23-year-old showed determination and heart by lifting himself off the field with Luke Campbell to win the knockout round in the seventh round. While Garcia ultimately hoped that his win would lead to a world championship chance, he was forced to sit out the rest of the year thanks to a combination of mental health rehabilitation and wrist surgery. left.

Now, after nearly a year of repairs, Garcia is back in the ring.

When the opening bell rang, Emmanuel Tagoe cautiously walked to the center of the ring. Of course, meeting him there was a passionate Garcia. The former WBC interim lightweight player darted slowly towards his elder with a raised stance. Once within firing range, Garcia unloaded several of the right hooks that had found their mark.

Not wanting to stand there and exchange, Tagoe spent most of his time adjusting. In the next round, Tagoe managed to stand his ground, however, he paid a heavy price for his brave act. Garcia lunged forward and let go of an aching right hand that sent his man falling onto the tarp.

Soon receiving the judges’ scorecard, Tagoe seemed determined to get back to it. The 33-year-old from Ghana increased his fierceness in the fourth round but only faced a relentless barrage of shots to both head and torso. Though he proved more willing to stand and pound, Garcia singled out Tagoe for most of the first half of their competition.

When the bell rang for the start of the second half, Tagoe showed up with the boxing, moving and out. However, even with Tagoe’s plan to play defensively, Garcia continued to push forward. In season eight, a tired Tagoe is clearly seen on the ropes. In doing so, the often pompous Garcia pulled the strings all the while.

With no regrets in sight, Tagoe spent their entire time looking up at the clock. Meanwhile, he continued to ply around the ring. At one point, the exasperated Garcia threw his hands in the air and urged his men to get up and fight, which Tagoe didn’t want to do.

While Garcia was unable to score the closing blow, he did find himself on the winning end, scoring a wide decisive victory of the night.
