Golfers have just over a week to go before the end of the schedule when the competitors head to Sea Island, Georgia, for the RSM Classic 2022. Before PGA Tour members can consolidate their vacation plans and Embark on well-deserved vacations, one last chance to collect hardware awaits.

World No. 12 Tony Finau was originally chosen to headline the court after a dominant performance at the Houston Open. Having to withdraw on Tuesday afternoon due to injury, the field was officially open. In his place, several players will be looking to sprint into the season thanks to strong showings at the RSM Classic, including eight major championship winners like Jason Day and Justin Rose.

While the pair fell short of Finau’s attempt in Houston, the two former world Nos have put in admirable performances this swing season. Each possessing an impressive resume, the other players hoping to take a step in this direction are Denny McCarthy, Taylor Montgomery and Matthew NeSmith, all of whom are still looking for their first wins on the PGA Tour.

Keith Mitchell, Brian Harman, Harris English and a host of Sea Islanders will join them at the RSM Classic. With only 72 holes left until the end of the competition year, players look forward to finishing them all this week on the Atlantic coast.

Brian Harman (16-1): Harman is one of many members of the Sea Island mafia, and is arguably the best player in the group. Finishing a runner-up performance in Mayakoba, Harman returned home with his 11th appearance at the RSM Classic. In addition to his most recent results in Mexico, Harman added T23 results at The CJ Cup in South Carolina and T15 at the Shriners Children’s Open. The 35-year-old hasn’t won since 2017, but this would be a better chance than ever given his current form and familiarity with the property.
Seamus Power (20-1): The Irishman was Talor Gooch’s closest pursuer for much of last year before finishing in T4. Power arrives around this time in great form with his two most recent tournaments being: WIN, T3. His ironclad play has been surprisingly below average in five outings this season, but if his scoring clubs can team up, he will have a chance. on Sunday.
Jason’s Day (January 22): Day continued to impress to start the 2022-23 season as he scored another quality result last week at the Houston Open as a T16 finish. Hitting the ball continues to be his forte, and his short play is starting to resemble that of seven years ago when Day was the best player in the world.
Tom Hoge (January 25): The fall at Mayakoba might come as a surprise, but Hoge should enjoy a nice recovery spot at Sea Island. Having played in the league for the past eight years, Hoge was last called up just a season ago when he finished in T4. This year, he became one of the best players in the field with a top 15 finish at The CJ Cup in South Carolina, the Zozo Championship, the Shirners Children’s Open and the Fortinet Championship.

Keith Mitchell (35-1): The RSM Classic was previously unpopular with Sea Islanders, but Mitchell seems to want to change that. The bomber had his best run of the season at the Houston Open, where he broke into the top 10 on the leaderboard. One of the best golf ball handlers in the world, other aspects of his game will be tested on the Plantation and Seaside courses. He’s connected with top 15 attempts in two of his last three RSM Classics as he continues to feel more comfortable hosting a home game.
