Rolando “Rolly” Romero opens up about clash with Gervonta Davis: “I think it was the easiest fight of my life”

Although Rolando “kt Rolly” Romero may hold an undefeated record through 14 professional fights, experts say the era of a champion boxer is coming to an end.
On May 28, at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Romero will face tough hitter, Gervonta Davis. With Davis holding his own undefeated record across 26 appearances in the ring, the 27-year-old has knocked 24 of his opponents unconscious.
However, while Davis may be known for his disastrous knockout power and great overall boxing skills, Romero is not worried about his upcoming opponent. In fact, even if Romero has registered five of his 12 career knockouts in the first round, he believes the fight against Davis will be his most attempted victory yet.
“I think it was the easiest fight of my life,” Romero said in an interview with FightHype.com. “People don’t realize it but I know what’s going to happen.”
It wasn’t long ago when Romero, a former player temporarily at £135, believed the match against Davis would never come to fruition. Originally, the two were set for December 5, 2021. However, following sexual assault allegations, Romero was dropped from their upcoming duel.
With the 26-year-old vowing to clear his name, he has put his boxing career on hold while shifting focus to his legal affairs. A few months later, Romero was exonerated of all wrongdoing.
After being given the green light, Romero and Davis began negotiations to revive their fiery clash. With an official date and location fixed, Romero is anxious to prove to his doubters and opponents that he is indeed the better fighter.
In the end, despite his courage, bettors stood firmly behind Davis, considering him a significant favourite.
