Shields-Marshall Undisputed fight on September 10 in London
The undisputed women’s middleweight world championship matchup between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall looks set to have a date and a place.
Big Fight Weekend’s Dan Rafael revealed that the grim match will take place on Saturday, September 10 in London. He added that an official announcement is expected to be made after the July 4 holiday in the US.
The two undefeated boxers have been head-to-head since Shields arrived in Cardiff in February to defend her last title against Ema Kozin of which Marshall was the frontrunner. The Americans then joined Her opponent’s next world championship match against Femke Hermans in Newcastle. On both occasions, the two women were unstoppable in heated exchanges.
BOXXER promoter Ben Shalom, the man trying to defend the war, was hoping for an official announcement before but always insists that Shield against Marshall will happen.
“We are waiting for a date on which all parties agree,” he told Boxing Social’s Ryan Elliott last month.
“Savannah has some final work to do. It won’t take long, it’s just a matter of time. The final pieces in the jigsaw are coming together and that fight is bound to happen next.”
