Robert “Bobby” L. Brothers died Nov. 5 after a short illness. He was 69 years old. Bobby was born in New Orleans, La., and worked at the racetrack for most of his life for his brother, Frank Brothers. Bobby rose through the ranks from hot walker to groom to shedrow foreman and assistant trainer. When Frank Brothers retired in 2009, Bobby went to work for Bill Mott and worked for him until he retired in 2016.

He is survived by his two brothers, Frank and Lewis. A small, private service will be held in New Orleans for family members only. In lieu of flowers, please say a prayer for him. May he rest in peace.
