Ricoh GRIII X: The best travel camera out there?

When you want to travel light but still have a quality camera on hand, you often have to make some tough decisions and settle for unfortunate compromises. But what if a lightweight, pocketable camera solved many of those problems?

From the beginning of August until a few days ago, I was back in Australia. This is my first time going home in three years because of the pandemic, and I’ve had a lot to go through with family and friends. This is also my first time coming to Australia with my two daughters who have graduated from sleeping in strollers to running around like lions in the Serengeti. Because of those circumstances, I chose not to bring any camera equipment, because it hurt me. It’s also because I don’t own anything other than DSLRs and mirrorless cameras that require interchangeable lenses.

Which brings us to this amazing video by James Popsys in which he introduces Ricoh GR III SOCIAL. In his review of this Ricoh travel camera, Popsys discusses his wish for a camera that he can easily take with him everywhere he goes and easily drop it. pocket when he’s not using it. That’s the criteria he uses for a real travel camera and back to why I don’t take any of my cameras, as they are too cumbersome to deal with as you pick and knock two young girls all day. Popsys also discusses why he prefers the Ricoh GR III X Fuji X100 and Sony a7C and most importantly, why he doesn’t just use his phone. Show me the video and tell me what your favorite travel camera is.
