Train your puppy to obey. It’s worth every minute you spend. Also, whoever is considering adoption, research the breed to choose one that fits your lifestyle, that way you don’t have to take them to a shelter because you can’t handle one. Dogs have super super high energy and you’re working 8-9 hours a day and the dog is home alone being spoiled.

Treat them as if they were your children. At first we trained the crate, eventually he got better all day and never had an accident. Get more stuffed babies! All my bullies love their stuffed kids. They carry them everywhere! Pitties are such wonderful and loving dogs with the right owners. The crap that the uneducated media and social media throws out about them shows how little they really know about the real breed! They value the many for the few! I have worked in Animal Control for over 16 years and we receive more reports of bites from German Shepherds and small breed dogs under 30 lbs than any other breed! Every time an uneducated person calls to say there’s a vicious pitbull running around in my neighborhood, the dogs just walk in the street doing nothing and we just go up to them on a leash and grab them. while they wagged their tails and tried to give us kisses!

Raise them to be lovable. All 3 of my children were raised with a pit bull. Now they are 28, 23 and 14.3 different dogs. Not once did any of them hurt my child or anyone who came to our house. Now we are on our 4th Pitty! It is the cutest dog I have ever met. I will always be there to speak. That’s how you raise them!

LOVE, patient, but strict confidence and respect. They are a reflection of their family. NEVER reinforce aggression. They will happily protect you without training to do so. Positive reinforcement is key! They are the absolute best dogs! As ever!

Teach your child to respect the dog (and any animal.) Do not let your child ride on the dog, pull its ears or tail, or tease the dog, no matter how tolerant the dog may seem. Teach them to give dogs space and be aware of its limits — and they have limits, too. Always treat the dog kindly and never hit the dog. The same goes for advice for adults.

Dogs are great but need to be properly socialized from an early age and taught obedience training from an early age. Also socialize them with your friends and family. They can be a stubborn breed. Not all but some. Don’t mess with them. They are great dogs if treated properly. We’ve been together for 13 years and he’s the biggest baby ever. Love all animals, children and people. He is protective of his kids but never aggressive.

Watch out for the happy tail, insurance, dexterity & manners, socializing, I mentioned Beware the happy tail. Love them as if they would love you unconditionally.

The best dogs I’ve ever had are pitbulls. They are easy to train and very loving. People will be prejudiced, but my pitbull has really changed my mind a lot about this breed. They expected him to be mean and were shocked at his friendliness and composure. He has also previously lived with two yorkies, one of which would kick him out of his dish and he would run away in fear.

Spay and neuter we need help with this breed! Too many people are trapped in rescues and shelters. Many people are abandoned and abused but still love people unconditionally. Everyone here says perfect things! They are very loyal and they provide a relationship beyond imagination!

My Pitty is the best dog I’ve ever owned! Friendly, lovely, smart. They get a bad reputation but that’s how you raise them.. I saved him when he was about 2 years old and brought him into my house with 3 little grandchildren and he was great with them and still is ..We’re all fighting over who he’s going to sleep with. He ran my house and I trust him with everyone! He’s my son and wouldn’t trade him for the world
