- Background: Hitchins is a 2016 U.S. Olympian and rising young 140-pound contender from New York City. The 26-year-old, an accomplished technician, is coming off the biggest win of his career: a narrow decision over three-time world champion Jose Zepeda on September 23. Hitchins is ranked in the Top 3 in three of the four major sanctioning bodies, ranking 2nd according to the WBC. Lemos is best known for his fifth-round knockout of former 126-pound champion Lee Selby at 135 pounds in March 2022, sending the veteran Welshman into retirement. The IBF’s No. 7 ranked 140-pounder is also on a streak of 10 straight knockouts. However, he faced no one else of note. And the 28-year-old Buenos Aires resident has never fought outside his hometown, which makes it difficult to assess the threat to Hitchins he will pose on Saturday.
