Review of HALOVIE . pet backpack

Although she weighs 40 pounds now and is still gaining, when we first brought her home from the shelter, she weighed only 7 pounds. As you know, we walk our dogs twice daily on our trails – but due to the abundance of wildlife the trails are not suitable for an unvaccinated puppy. room. Answer: a pet backpack. We did some searching and ordered the HALOVIE Pet Carrier Backpack and put it to the test.

The HALOVIE pet backpack As the name suggests, a backpack is specifically designed to carry pets, whether it’s puppies or small dogs–cats or other small pets.

Unlike a regular backpack, it has a reinforced flat bottom for your pet’s comfort and mesh panels for ventilation and observation. And, unlike pet carriers, it can be carried on your back.

Why we want to use pet backpacks

As I mentioned, we wanted this pet backpack to be able to carry our puppy Isla along our dog walking trails before she was fully vaccinated. enough. During this time, she cannot be on the ground outside our fenced yard.

I wanted her to get used to our dog-walking routine and mingle with the sights, sounds, and smells of the walk—while riding safely in a backpack.

We also want to be able to take her to the park with Barli cho socialize–let her watch and listen to children on the playground, see cars come and go in the parking lot, and become more familiar with life outside of our homes and yards.

Socialization during those first weeks is extremely important for a puppy’s development.

Why we choose the HALOVIE Pet Backpack

The shelter guessed Isla would grow to 40-50 pounds so I knew that, to get the most out of the backpack before she grew up, I needed a backpack rated for larger puppies.

On the other hand, I don’t want a backpack that keeps her upright due to concerns about her spine in that position.

I want her to be able to sit or lie in her backpack.

Backpack with flat bottom with Two removable bases, both luxurious and smooth for cold and hot weather. The plush base also features a removable, washable lid.

The HALOVIE Pet Transport Backpack can hold pets up to 18 pounds–so I know it will get us at least a few weeks before Isla becomes too heavy to carry. (We also have three cats so the backpack would be very useful when taking them with them to a vet visit or even a potential evacuation.)

My Favorite Features of Pet Backpacks

strap

The adjustable, padded straps on a pet backpack are as good as any I’ve had on a backpack. There is also a chest support strap.

Zipper Lock

We all know that puppies can (make it AWESOME) get into anything, and zippers are no exception. The zippers on the backpack have a small buckle (like a miniature dog collar lock) to ensure that your dog can’t stick his paw in the zipper hole and start unzipping the bag.

Preamble

The backpack has an opening in the front but I like the one top opening; it makes it easier to put Isla in the pocket.

The top door has two flaps: one Mesh with zipper for ventilation and a Rugged waterproof Oxford cloth cover that you can close in inclement weather.

The fabric lid has Velco attachments to keep the lid closed or roll it up and secure it open.

You can also choose to open the top with a zippered mesh so your dog can poke his head out of the bag. There is an adjustable safety strap attached inside the bag then for your dog.

The seat belt is too long and stretchy to be used safely with the Isla, so I didn’t unzip the top zipper while walking.

Extra bag

The backpack has pockets on both sides. One side includes a zippered pocket; the other side has an open pocket for a water bottle as well as a small zipped pocket with a poop bag.

Expand the backpack

Okay, here’s a big selling point for me on the HALOVIE Pet Backpack: the back of the backpack can be unlocked and folds down to pull out a large mesh section so your dog has more room to stretch. go out:

I had planned to use this feature at an outdoor restaurant, but the weather was not favorable before Isla was bigger than the bag.

I was able to use it when running socializing to the gas station so Isla could get used to the sound of the car and refuel the car.

We were burning brooms on our property one day (always Barli’s favorite activity), so I brought Isla with me, putting the carrier on a blanket because she wasn’t fully vaccinated. enough and let her enjoy all the sights and smells:

Overall, I am very satisfied with the pet backpack. It allowed us to safely get Isla out into the world in a matter of weeks. The backpack is well made, sturdy and has some great features.

I would recommend this backpack for small dogs or puppies as an alternative to a carrier. It is currently available on Amazon for about 55 dollars.

Our puppy backpack is now a cat backpack, so even if Isla gets older, it will still be a useful addition to pet gear. our!
